Stella Blue Covington

Isn't she the sweetest thing you've ever seen? We got her today and love her! My friend Alyssa was kind enough to give her to us. So far we have played, I gave her a bath, and she took a little nap. I don't think Dixie is that crazy about her, she is foaming at the mouth, I think she wants to eat her.

Houston

Last week I traveled home to Houston with Scott to visit my family. My awesome dad picked us up at the airport and we headed straight to the beach (my favorite place on Earf (as my nephew Michael would say it)). After that we spent the week together and celebrated Father's day. My awesome brother cooked some deeeelish fajitas and we all pigged out on my dad's (Pop) homeade ice cream. I had such a fun time with my family and I can't wait to go back! Pictured above are my two nephews, they are so so funny!
My very very best friend in the entire world picked me up on Sunday night and we headed to her house. Monday, we went to the beach, it was her son Peyton's first trip to the beach. He loved it! We had a great time and I wish I could hang out with them everyday!
We slept in two hotel rooms and three different people's houses, whew! I'm glad to be home!
See you soon, Houston!!

Puppy!!

Look at those sweet faces! I'm not sure exactly which one is ours, but they are OH SO CUTE! When we get back from vacation we are going to pick up our sweet little puppy. Right now, our friend Alyssa named her Betty, but when we bring her home her name will be Stella (unless we can think of something cuter). I am so excited! I hope Dixie loves her puppy sister. (And I hope she dosen't chew our walls like Dixie did when she was a puppy).

I LOVE my family! I also love the beach. Every summer (which has only been one summer, since moving to Lubbock) I take a trip to visit my family, and this year Scott is coming with me! We are headed to Houston on Wednesday to have some fun. We are going to the beach Wednesday and Thursday (Yay!). Then we will spend some time with my two sweet nephews (I can't wait to hear "Aunt April, you know what??") and my brother and sister in-law. Luckily, we are all going to be able to celebrate Father's day together on Sunday! I foresee a horse-shoe tournament in the future. Then, for the remainder of our trip we are going to spend some time with my very best friend in the entire world; Shana K. Bond! See you soon, Houston!!

My favorite running shoes..
I am really good at saying I am going to do something, and buy all the equipment, and then never follow through. About a year ago, I decided I wanted to participate in a half-marathon. Since then, I have been running regularly, but I haven't participated in a race (besides the breast cancer run/walk). So, today I am joining the West Texas Running club. They have a club race the first Saturday of every month, and it's only $15 per year. I REALLY want to meet my goal of the half-marathon by November (the WTRC sponsored race). I KNOW I can do it, I have always been pretty athletic, but I just get really bored when I run. After about 4 miles it is so boring! (and hot right now). Even when I change up my workouts and swim, after 45 minutes I am bored to death. I need to figure out how to stay motivated when I run. I hear the same songs that I always hear, and all the scenery in Lubbock is very familiar. I am using the website http://www.marathonrookie.com/ to help me through the process. There is a ten week training guide, and it also explains nutrition, motivation and all that stuff. I CAN DO IT! (and maybe it will help me lose that ten pounds that I dream about shedding...)

Austin, TX

Well, I had a really fun time visiting Austin. Um, it was fun-filled and interesting. Here are some tips: don't fly, drive. That way, when you want to leave, you can. And, don't get "too loud" on the Comal River, if you do, you can go to jail.

I would like to give a verrry special thanks to my very close friend Morgan Shull (and Tyler too!). Morgan and I have known each other for about seven years and, I LOVE HER!! Even though I live six hours away, I couldn't imagine my life without Morgan in it. Thanks Morgan for having me, and thanks for the super fun weekend!!

We floated the Comal River on Saturday and got a little "too loud". Hopefully we can go back next year and still have fun! Those damn river cops!

On Sunday, Tyler made us all the most delicious homeade burgers I've ever eaten! I also got to spend some time with the Shull kids, and I really miss them. I know they will be making a stop in Lubbock in six months and we can have another sleep-over. It's on their calendar and I'm sure Sutton is counting down, and Katlyn has already forgotton about it. Haha.

I was there for a few days and only took like five pictures, woops! We were having too much fun!
Love you Shull Family!! :)

First Anniversary: Paper.

I have the very best friend EVER!!! The gift for the first anniversary is supposed to be paper. At first, I thought it was silly to follow those old timey rules, but now I think it's fun. My best friend ever, Shana Bond, sent us the best paper gifts you could think of. Pictured to the left is (neat gifts all made of paper) an elephant journal, a memoir (my favorite kind of book) some notes with a C on the front, a super cute framed picture of my godson, some paper notes (i love sticky notes and stuff like that) with a C on the front, and the best gift of all; a Grateful Dead scrapbook that tells the story of The Grateful Dead. Scott will LOVE that! Thanks Shana!!
